What is the earliest / latest I can bring my pet in?

Our earliest appointment is 8:00 am Monday through Friday. During the weekdays (Monday – Friday) we take our last appointment at 5:00pm. If you need to be seen after our last appointment, there may be an emergency fee (or an after-hours fee).

Do I need to have an appointment?

It is better to have an appointment. We do accept walk-ins, but there will usually be a longer wait time.

Do you have someone here all night to check on my hospitalized pet?

Our hospital is not staffed after hours, and we typically only hospitalize low risk animals. We send our higher risk animals to a 24 hour hospital for continuous monitoring.

What do I do if my pet needs to be seen after hours or on a holiday?

In the event of an emergency, or if your pet needs care when we are closed, we recommend taking your pet to the VETMED Consultants, contact them at 602-697-4694. Their address is 20610 N. Cave Creek Rd. PHoenix, AZ 85024.

Can I just drop my pet off and pick them up after work?

We will accept drop-offs if the situation calls for it. If you need to drop your pet off for an examination, please call our office to schedule a time.

Can I make payments?

We do not make payment arrangements. Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, checks (with a valid driver’s license), Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and debit cards with a Visa or Mastercard logo. We also accept ScratchPay.

When should I get my pet spayed or neutered?

We generally recommend pets to be spayed/neutered at 6 months of age. However, our veterinarian may make a different recommendation based on individual breeds/sex.

Do you board pets?

Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to allow for the boarding of animals.

Do you see any exotic pets?

No, we only see dogs and cats.

What do you recommend for heartworms? Is preventative necessary?

We recommend keeping your dog on a heartworm preventative year-around. In addition to protecting against heartworms, it also eliminates intestinal parasites such as hookworms, roundworms, and whipworms. As with most diseases, it is easier to prevent than to treat. Even when successfully treated, there can be residual negative effects on the heart. We recommend testing your dogs for heartworms on a yearly basis.
