Candice Emerson, DVM – Medical Director

I am really excited to be a part of the team at DC Ranch Animal Hospital. I grew up in Scottsdale and received my Bachelors of Science at Arizona State University in Wildlife Conservation Biology before earning my Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University. I moved back to Arizona and have been practicing in the Scottsdale area since 2003. One thing I have learned as a veterinarian is the importance of keeping an open mind and listening to what my patients and clients tell me. I believe in working with my clients to provide them with the best options in veterinary care for each individual situation and in making the veterinary visit as stress free as possible. I am also certified as a “Fear-Free” practitioner.

In my personal time, I am busy raising my two sons and caring for all our pets, which includes two rescued Chihuahuas, a cat and tortoise.

Ann Fan, DVM

Originally from Taiwan, I have called Arizona home since 2008. I came to the United States to further my veterinary education and completed an additional year long clinical training at Colorado State University. I was fortunate enough to meet many great mentors, enjoy the incredible Rocky Mountains, while working hard and learning so much. After obtaining my license to practice, I pursued a small animal medicine and surgery internship at VCA Animal Referral and Emergency Center of Arizona in Mesa. I not only worked closely with different specialists, but also handled many emergency situations.

Since finishing my internship in 2014, I have been practicing in the Valley and am very excited to be part of the DC Ranch Animal Hospital family. My professional interests include dermatology, pain management, wound care and dentistry. I am a strong believer in client communication and eliminating stress for our loved furry friends during their hospital visits. I am excited to be certified as a “Fear-Free” practitioner and look forward to providing the best care for both the emotional and physical well-being of our patients.

During my free time, I enjoy hiking, exploring new restaurants and spending time with my family which of course includes my kitties.
